Yep...no idea what this specific model fetches. To be fair, he paid $400 on it when new. The shop called me for value and sent me pics. It didn't have the original mag and the stock was a replacement. I gave them actual values and it was a WIDE range. They put it out on the shelf at $2795 which I helped them with. Seemed low-to-fair but its a bit of a buyer's market right now (I paid $2k for a Saco import HK91 in January fro m the same shop....didn't even negotiate). I let the M62/S sit for a few days at the tagged price figuring if nobody snagged it, I'd make an offer. I offered $2k and the seller accepted (he was apparently very happy).

It's not the Uber-collectible version with bicycle handle and crutch stock... but still it is a Valmet. I have been in the market for one for at least 6 months now and they are really hard to find in excellent condition with all accessories.

Saw one for sale in Tulsa at the big Wannemaker Show last fall, guy was just walking around with it and an HK91. He wanted $1650 for the Valmet, it was a very nice rifle with three mags. Given what the market is in Ak's now, I think that was a pretty good deal honestly.

Amazing price, even if it was a 5.56 version.

If it was a 62/S, that was a good deal 15 years ago. If that had been me, I would have asked to hold it, not let go and let my friend get the money out of my wallet.

It was an x39 rifle with the tube folder. The HK wasan early Saco import gun, very clean, he wanted 2k for it.

    Those are both screaming deals.

I'm a Valmet fan as well.

I used this 62/S at the InRangeTV Desert Brutality Match this year in "Classic" division. This pic was taken after two days of competition. The rifle performed excellent. Posted a 1st in class in the "Kasarda Drill-Hard Mode" stage. Bested Karl at his own game.

    I also have a wood stock 62/s.
