I don't blame you one bit. There still should be a market for that lower. Do you plan on selling it?

Unless he sells it to a Class 3 dealer I would expect that even trying to dump it on somebody else would be just another hassle. The whole story is just depressing.

No need to go through any special gyrations. Since it was a factory registered lower, it will sell even easier if he wants to go that route. He can sell the lower as any other lower and send a letter to the NFA removing it from the registry if he wants to sell it as a non-NFA firearm.
WS6 will never get the money back for his time and frustration and that sucks that Noveske won't work with him.
I'd sell the rifle if I could and feel good about it. I was going to sell the 5.56 upper and run the dd upper on it. Now, I best keep the 5.56 upper. Probably will live in the back of the safe and gather dust as I'm going to 300blk for short barrels. Or maybe I will rebarrel that upper. Who knows. I just hate selling stuff I wouldn't want to be associated with, and out of spec parts are certainly that. This whole situation just angers and sickens me.
A more humanistic aspect here is that I was going to move states at the end of the year. I am going to probably have to push that back now, waiting on the Daniel Defense rifle to clear. Here in the Peoples Democracy of Louisiana, we have state and federal approvals to jump through. Adds months. Looking at nine months if I'm lucky, total.
They are pretty much on my "I dunno" list along with POF, Adam Arms, and Sig Sauer after this whole thing.

The whole thing just seems a bit ridiculous to me. I am very certain now that I made a good choice not paying $2000 for a Noveske at a gunshow. Hopefully the company doesn't do this again in the future.
Good to hear that DD is taking care of you. Even though one of my DDs did have a minor issue, only one slot on the castle nut was staked, I don't hesitate to think highly of their rails or rifles. Now if only I could find a few spare BCGs for under $200. I'll give it a few more months.

Glad to hear that. DD is a very nice company to buy things from even if the company that films for them made videos with Rob Pincus. I'm definitely doing business with DD into the future. Not trying to be a shill here![]()

I don't think it's a total lost cause. The factory Noveske SBR works with the 5.56mm upper it came with. As you mentioned, you could swap out barrels on that particular upper if you wanted 300BLK exclusively for your SBR. I realize that is much more inconvenient compared with having multiple uppers of various barrel lengths and calibers to pick and choose from for any given day.
But since it's a registered lower, I'd keep it. It seems that just the rear pin site is too narrow on the Noveske Gen2, correct? Would it be possible for a competent gunsmith to VERY CAREFULLY widen that rear lug site with filing of some kind, hopefully with a jig or something to keep everything extremely level? It seems like not that much metal would have to be removed, since the PSA upper and the VLTOR VIS upper both managed to fit (albeit tightly) to the Noveske SBR lower.
There's got to be a solution out there to keep that Noveske from being a safe queen.
P.S. I've been very happy with my Noveske stuff.
