I've got an M961 on my 6920, and an X200 with XT07 swtich on my 9mm AR. Going to pick up a few X300's and switches for the 9mm AR, my 10.3" AR, and pistols.

Like Grant said, depending on the application, the X300 is an almost ideal piece of kit.

I agree. My X300 was probably the brightest at the recent Vickers.

A couple of people have mentioned XT switches. I didn't think these are out yet, where did you get them from?

They were out since the X200A days. Then towards the end of the X200B days, they released an updated version. We saw some of these towards the middle of 2007, but have not seen them since.

The design was poor. These two have been back at Surefire since May 2007 because the plastic tab that keeps the cover closed snapped off on both of them - while in my rifle bag. Surefire is supposed to be replacing them.

Surefire said in December that they had completed the redesign and would be available by the end of the month. They said that in December, January, February and its now the end of March.

I'm a little irritated that I'm still waiting after 10 months, but hopefully Surefire gets them right this time.

I have been thinking about using one of these x300 for my 16" ar for home def., what part of the rail would be an ideal choice to mount and would the 16" lenght of barrel interfer with the light beam? as for the rail I mean like side, top, bottom, etc., the reason for me for this partiular light it would be nice to take off the rifle and attach to my sidearm if needed, so thats one of the main reasons why I'm looking into purchasing one of these. So I'm was wondering everyones imput on this. If anyone is using this on a 16" barrel and you have pics, you wouldn't kindly mind posting them for me, would you. Thanks everyone for your time.

By the way gotm4, very nice ar

    Good thread.

I'm looking to update my primary carbine light set-up, and the X300 is on my short list.
