    I get what you're saying about muscle memory; however a pistol safety mounted near your firing hand thumb is a bit different than a button on your top rail. Yes, practice will mitigate this, but I'd rather not have one more thing to worry about about. Hence, my fixed irons. Good point, tho.
    Yes, the side mounted buttons have a nice distinctive click to them.

    If I could see through my fixed irons like I could even 25 years ago, I wouldn't have a scope now.

    There seem to be two red dots in the top running. I'm 65 with cataracts, I need lots of light. The Aimpoints and Eotechs looked far better than other red dots.

    As for AR-15s, there are 5 or 6 in the top category. I bought a Colt because I had used one many times over the years, and really knew nothing about the other brands.
