I am looking at either a Pro or CompM4 rds. The weapon will be used with a 3x mag. My DD is for home defense, carbine classes and TEOTWAWNI. So give me the plusses and minuses.
Thanks in advance.

why don't you list what's holding you back from going one way or another? what do you perceive as the pluses or minuses? it's going to be different for different folks.
For purposes you list, I'd certainly vote for the PRO.
Right now cost is a high factor. Both if I remember correctly will do NV as well as 2 MOA. I know LE uses the Pro where as the military uses CompM4. I need the rds to hold up to abuse. Not sure what batteries each take but I need to be able to obtain them or recharge them so I am leaning towards the CompM4. Weight wise the Pro is going to be lighter.
Oh the fever.... I have it bad.

The PRO has a claimed 30,000 hour battery life, or about 3 years of continuously on. A new battery for the PRO costs about $5. It's lithium, so about storage for about 10 years without degradation in charge. You could spend $15 for three spares, preemptively change them every two years and have 8 years of continuous battery function.
OTOH, an Aimpoint PRO is $400, a Comp M4 is $800.

This has been done, and recently.
