Daniel Defense & Leupold Mk4 MR/T CMR2 reticle

Hello,

I'm looking for some help with the above set up. My DDM4 is awesome! I thought the Leupold scope would be an optical equal, but I ran out of vertical adjustment.

This scope has a built in bullet drop compensator & an illuminated horseshoe reticle. It's mounted with Leupold rings (medium was the lowest one the would work) an requires sighting in with 62gr M855. I tried Federal, IMI & Winchester--which were surprisingly consistent--but I'm maxed out on vertical down and still 1.5" too high. Using "Kentucky Windage" I was still able to tag gongs to 300yrds--but I don't think that's how the scope was meant to be used.....

I've emailed Leupold to see what they say, but was curious if anyone else has had his issue?

What distance are you trying to zero at, and what rings in particular are you using? Are you sure they don't cant like 10 or 20 MOA down?

I've seen guys flip flop them and run out of vertical.

I love to help, but first I have a few questions:

1) Is this your scope?

2) Are these your rings?

3) And are your rings mount direct to your receiver?

4) what range are you sighting in at and how much adjustment did your scope use to get zeroed??

The reason I ask these questions are the particular scope I think you have has 120 MOA of elevation adjustment. That's 60 MOA up and 60 MOA down.

To use up that much MOA of adjustment means either your receiver, your rings or your scope is way out of wack.

Also make sure your not bridging the gap between your receiver and your fore-end rail. If your are and your front rail is lower than your receiver rail you could be adding cant just like a 20 MOA base does. Except your adding more than 60 MOA of cant.

Of course your scope could be bad, but I would look at your set up first. Some pictures of your rifle with scope and rings would help us to diagnose the problem more fully.
