I did a search and I can't figure out what kind of AK to buy. I am looking for something cheap, it will be used for just plinking, and I have never owned an AK. Any help on this would be great, thanks.

A Romanian WASR chambered in 7.62x39mm or 5.45x39mm will be just fine.

I'd look for a used Romanian SAR1 (be sure the FSB is straight).

I am going to order one online, hopefully it will be in good shape. So far I have found the Romanian WASR prices to be around what I want to spend ($300-$400). I will look into the SAR1 also. Thanks, I know nothing about AK's!
