Yeah, I was optimistic until the price. I think it would have to be at least cheaper than an MK6 for me to consider it.
Yeah, I think the street price will probably be close to the Mk6, but yeah if it was $1500, pending reviews of it, it would be a definite consideration for me just b/c of toughness and battery life, but as is I don't think it's worth 2 SWFA 1-6s. All speculation of course...could be the bees knees....
I think it that price range though, LL is right, might as well jump up a couple hundred and get an SR8-C.

I can see the street price being around $1650, although you might only see that for mil/le discounts. DSG seems to sell Trijicon optics at around 73% of msrp to mil/le.
FWIW, DSG sells the mk6 for $1755.

When I saw the title I thought: Awesome, they are finally putting ACOG reticles in Accupoints, plus they are boosting the mag range. It might even sell for less than an ACOG still.
I guess I missed that by a mile.
It's probably a great optic, and looks damn rugged, but it isn't what I was expecting in any way.
No batteries is Trijicon's claim to fame on the Acog's and TR scopes. Kinda surprised to see they didn't incorporate any illumination other than electronic on this one.
I was just hoping for a 1-6 TR24 with a better reticle.

So without actually seeing/using this in person yet.....
How is this better than the Swarovski 1-6 or USO 1-8x? Cuz the Swarovski is badass. I'm hoping the VCOG is, at least on par with it.
It's already the $1800-2000 price point. I agree, I would have been pretty happy with an Accupoint 1-6 or 1-8x for approximately $1200-1400ish.
Seriously. How hard could it be to put a bdc horseshoe reticle in the accupoint, which weighs only 14 oz. Everybody has been begging for that package for years. Trijicon apparently has their head stuck in the sand... or somewhere worse.
A TR24 with horseshoe would sell like crazy.
