    Buffer question; Is this OK?

So there has been some discrepancy on another site, about my buffer.

I have a 16" carbine, with a carbine gas system. I bought my lower completely assembled with an Ace ARFX stock attached. I don't know jack about buffers, so I've been looking for answer. I was told I might not wanna shoot my rifle with my current buffer. It's the same buffer as this - http://www.biggerhammer.net/ar15/buffers/6600bfr1.jpg . From looking at the comparison site that pic came from, it's an HBAR buffer - http://www.biggerhammer.net/ar15/buffers/ . I was told that it is a rifle buffer, and I shouldn't run it in my carbine.

I just wanna get a straight answer before I fire it. Is it OK to run? I will probably end up getting a different buffer down the road anyway, but I just wanna know if I'm ok for now with this setup.

I ordered it online and that's how it came assembled .

ETA: Should I ask the company to send me a carbine buffer for free?

Damnit. I'm gonna email them right now, and see what they can do about this.

PM sent to Warpig. (I don't wanna post the name, and people to think negatively on the company. Hopefully they make it right.)

The lower is a Stag. I just emailed them, asking if they could replace it, and send a pre-paid shipping sticker for me to send my current buffer back.

I don't want anyone to take this as bashing on the company, because I was pleased with the business I've done with them so far. Shit happens, people make mistakes. But hopefully they make things right. I will post what they say when I get a response tomorrow.

Now I'm confused. I just checked the Ace site, and it says my stock (ARFX) uses standard A1/A2 receiver extension tube, buffer and spring - http://riflestocks.com/catalog/produ...roducts_id=189 . Then I checked where they sell them on the site, and it's exactly what I have - http://riflestocks.com/catalog/produ...roducts_id=199 . So is the setup I have now right or not ? I've had a bunch of people on a couple different sites tell me I need a carbine buffer.

You're all good. The ACE stock does indeed use a standard rifle length buffer tube, buffer and spring. Do not put a carbine buffer or spring in it. These parts are dictated by the type of buffer tube (receiver extension is actually the correct term) and not by the length of the barrel.
