This class is being run in conjunction with our Practical Fundamentals class the same weekend. Students who take the Friday/Saturday class are welcome. Students who meet the prerequisites may attend this as a one day, stand alone class.

THIS IS NOT A BASIC CLASS

Who: Operation Specific Training

Instructors:
Bruce Gray
Jerry Jones

What:
Skill Builder - "Skills & Drills"

1 day class
The Skills and Drills skill Builder Course is an 8 hour course designed to push the pistol shooter to the next level. The course focuses around maximizing trigger control to solve marksmanship problems.

The course also includes a significant block of one handed shooting. The course begins with a quick over view of how to run the pistol, and then it is on to the range for skills and drills. This is NOT an "organized practice" type course that many schools offer, but a chance to work in small groups on what matters most- having faith in the process of running the gun, and letting the target take care of its self.

This is also not a basic class. Practical Fundamentals within the last three years is a must. We have found that students who have trained in some other places struggle with this class. The shooter should at minimum have a solid safe gun handling routine, and should be very familiar with how to draw the pistol and hit and IPSC/IDPA sized target in 1.5 seconds.

Topics covered:
Fundamental gun handling at a high level.
Trigger control styles, and how they affect hitting stuff at speed.
What the front sight does for you at speed.
Multiple shots at speed.
Single hand shooting.
Multiple shots one handed.
