To get back on topic, I love it.

I first bought a cheap 2-6x scope due to my 65 year old eyes. But it wouldn't hold zero.

When I decided on a red dot, I was concerned about most magnifiers only being 3x. I compared the G33 with my scope and a cheaper 3x magnifier, I was sold.

The G33 was much more clear, and let in a lot more light. I could see fine with it at 100 yards.

It's definitely more expensive than many other brands. But; the ijk 2-6x scope was also cheaper, it's now in the bottom of my closet.

I've pondered this myself. When I ordered the EXPS3-0 from Primary Arms, it came with a free 3X magnifier and mount. I've used it a couple times and didn't really find it useful for my application. Pretty much all of my rifle work is under 100 years and I'm confident shooting man sized targets at that range. I couldn't justify spending almost as much as I did on the sight for a magnifier that I'll hardly ever use.

    From the G33 manual

    Optic configuration

Only HWS models with side buttons or quick detach levers require the use of the riser. For all other HWS models, the riser should not be used.
    Please tell Eotech they're wrong.

How does what the manual says & what you said compare? The manual only states using the riser (or not) to match the height of the RDS. And even that, as we stated earlier, doesn't even make much of a difference. You said that you must use the riser on the magnifier because "If you don't you don't get the lower 1/3 co witness". The magnifier (riser or not) has no effect on the co-witness of the RDS & you can't co-witness while using the magnifier.

The Eotech web site says the built in 7mm riser of the EXPS series allows a lower 1/3 co witness, so in order for the magnifier to be lined up, the manual states to use the riser.

Like I said, take up the issue with them. I'm just telling you what the manufacturer says. Take it or leave it but don't tell me I'm wrong when the manual states otherwise.

The magnifier, riser or not, has no effect on the co-witness...only whether or not the optical center of the magnifier lines up with the optical center of the RDS. If it's off by 1/4 inch, that doesn't end up being a big deal in my experience.

They work as advertised. Don't forget to install the 7mm riser if you use them with the EXPS series HWS'. Those have the 7mm riser built in. If you don't you don't get the lower 1/3 co witness and they don't line up correctly.

Can you see your original post? You were talking about the riser on the magnifier. You said you need to install the riser on the magnifier otherwise you won't be able to lower 1/3 co-witness. Correct?? That's what I threw the flag on. Magnifiers have no effect on co-witness. NOW you're talking about the RDS itself. Read your quotes above, totally different. Top=wrong, bottom=correct
