A shame they didn't check the car they walked by. Don't know if that was a lucky shot and shear volume of fire, or someone has been practicing, but that seemed a impressive head shot from the distance made under such circumstances to me.

Two, a perfect example of the fact typical duty loads are not effective man stoppers unless something vital is hit, and if BG has no intentions of going down, probably will not:

"Delgado pops out of the BMW, gun in hand and starts firing at the officers. Saavedra, a few feet away, returns fire, stumbling away off screen. He has taken three shots to the stomach.

Milan backs up toward the street off camera.

Delgado, clearly wounded and hopping in pain, clings to the tree, but continues firing his weapon toward the officers.
    "

I guess lesson here is good guys will often take multiple rnds from a handgun and stay in the fight, but so can bad guys and it's not uncommon for them to do so.

The head shot ended the fight, but it looked like the guy had no intentions of stopping until he ran out of ammo or bled out, and my understanding is gut shots can be slow bleeders.

It definitely looked like a well placed head shot through the gap in the tree. If that's the case, good on the officer who took the time to make a precision shot, and ultimately end the fight. That shot reminds me of a shooting here in my home state where a police officer (after taking multiple 5.56 rounds into his cruiser, and getting hit in the leg) made a 25 yard head shot on a very heavily armed ex military soldier wearing armor, to stop him from probably killing a lot of people.

It can pay to spend time training for longer precision pistol shots. Glad they ended this gunfight in Miami before more people were hurt.

ETA: Here are the links to the shooting I referenced in Salt Lake:

I'd like to know where in the head he was hit. Even though the round took him out of the fight he was still flapping around for a good few seconds afterward. Also looks like he took a few rounds prior to the head shot.

I am glad the perp didn't come out of his car with a rifle. This could have ended a lot differently. Nice shot by the officer.

Yep. Must have taken one in the chest, as it looks like a growing blood stain dead center on his back. The head shot may have been a grazing wound, but it put him down none the less.

My dream is to be a law enforcement officer. Scenes like this just make you realize how much these guys sacrifice and risk everyday to keep us Civi's safe.

He probably hadn't read "Tactical Combat CQB Dynamic Critical Handgun" magazine and didn't know he was supposed to fall down immediately when shot.
