British SA80 Rail Contract?

Is it true that DD just won the contract to supply 70,000 DD SA80 specific rails to the British Army?

I have heard grumblings about this, but do not know who the contract went to.

Hopefully it is DD, they (Brits) definately need to improve their current platform.

Daniel Defense has been awarded a contract to supply the UK MOD with rail systems for the L85 or SA80.

The contract awarded to Daniel Defense is a three year IDIQ contract. This means that the UK MOD is only contractually bound to purchase the minimum guaranteed quantity on the award which is far less than 70,000 units.

Daniel Defense has made every effort to fulfill our obligations on this contract while still taking care of our commercial customer base.
