Probably funnier that way. And kinda surprised Stanwyck didn't actually deliver it that way. Her and Myrna Loy are two of my favorites from the classics, especially the pre codes. Christmas in Connecticut is still a much watch at my house during the holidays.

I have made several attempts at that movie having heard similar praise but for some reason I just can't get through it. It's just really bad and not in a fun way, at least to me.

I just figured it out, same director as "Time Bandits", just too much wall to wall weirdo stuff for me. Hate his work.
I guess I know who I can't recommend movies to then, as I'm complete disagreement on that. I totally enjoy "wall to wall weirdo stuff" if it's well done. It expands your mind and challenges your perceptions. If it's just wall to wall weirdo stuff for the sake of it, then, no. As always, there's often a fine line between them. Someone said that about 2001 to me once. I knew we could not be friends.

Kubrick is a perfect example. People either love him or hate him. I personally really like his films and he's had a couple brilliant ones. Some people just can't watch them at all and I understand.

But there are a few directors whose style and vision I simply cannot stand. Terry Gilliam is one of them, I can only watch one of his films and that is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The rest just annoy me and I hate them. Even 12 Monkeys which is a brilliant idea is hard for me to watch because of his style. Tim Burton is the only other director I hate, probably even more. I despite all of his films. Also can't stand Terrence Malick because everything he does is so damn slow and boring. He can take any subject matter and make an film that is unwatchable.

Excellent choice, absolutely hated it the first couple times I saw it, but it's one of those films you warm up to.
