    Shivworks DVD's

I've been scouring the net for DVD's by Shivworks and can not seem to find any place to purchase them. (Don't see them on the Shivworks site or anywhere else)

Does anyone know where to find them? Have they been discontinued?

He was selling them at a class I took in March. Maybe try emailing him about it.

    Will at www.ccdefense.com

He should have some. I've bought PUC and REM I&II from him recently.
You should also consider Cecil Burch's video also.

Thanks a ton, ordered the PUC DVD from www.ccdefense.com. I've heard a lot of good things about Shivworks... and am pumped for the DVD.

The videos are good but they are not a replacement for the coursework, more of a supplement. You should try to make it out to a Shivworks class as soon as possible.

Yeah, I'd echo the above statements. I have Practical Unarmed and the ECQC DVD, which has somewhat better production values and is the more recent (plus a Reverse Edge DVD I haven't gotten to watching yet) and took ECQC last October.

In no way, shape, or form can the DVDs replace the class. I think that goes without saying but to me it's even more true of this stuff than, say, a DVD purely on shooting. It's a good resource to review material or in prep for the class, though.

Here's the link to the ECQC DVD:

Are there any sources for Craig or Cecil's DVDs that doesn't require me to send funds to Pincus?

Lol. Fair question. I don't believe the DVDs available from ccdefense, which are a little older, will result in anything going to Pincus.

It's only the newer ECQC DVD that came out through Pincus' company--and be aware he's briefly in a couple of the segments, basically as a student.

Pretty much made up my mind that my next class will be a shivworks class after watching the DVD and reading about/watching videos about the ECQC courses.

I'm going to get a couple more of the DVD's. I like to familiarize myself with an instructor and some of their material if they have any books/DVD's available before showing up to class.

The material in PUC is excellent. My wife actually took interest in the video, and I had her practice the default position and strikes. Although, maybe she was really just interested in Mr. Douglas...

Shivworks Practical Unarmed Combat DVD is a must buy. Fighting Handgun is excellent as well.

Edited to add: The Practical Unarmed Combat DVD is way more than unarmed combat, but focuses on recognizing and dealing with typical attempted criminal probes, set-ups, and assaults. This is a much neglected area that is essential for self defense.
