Tubes aren't hard to get really. It's the rest of the puzzle that's the problem.
I didn't realize they were backordered. I just now added it to my cart and saw that it was.

Just trying to be helpful... I guess I messed up.

Just pointing it out so people don't get excited over an empty bag of chips.

I was looking for one of these for a few months to put on a lower that I want to run with a rifle upper.

If they're this hard to get then I don't even want one. I hate having oddball stuff that I can't get parts for.

Carbine R.E. and an H or H2 has proven to be reliable for everything I need it to do.

I hear what you're saying... but this is a temporary situation.

And with an RE/Buffer.... once you set up the gun, It's almost unheard of that you need to replace parts other than the ACTION spring which is a standard rifle spring anyway.

I'm with markm on this one; you have one part that will wear: the action spring. Never heard of anyone wearing out a buffer or receiver extension (breaking a receiver extension on the other hand...)

They weren't this hard to get until the great firearms and ammo panic of 2013 happened. Once the situation gets back to notmal it will be a non issue.

I hope so , as I said I have a build with BCM system (6 position extension, M4 spring and H buffer) and I also have every component of the A5 system except for the buffer waiting to be put on and will be put on as soon as I can find a A5 buffer for it, in the mean time I dunno if I should stake the end plate /extension nut of this M4 system. That was one of my original questions and I am sorry if I missed the answer, but what would IG do in this situation Should I stake it regardless and torque it to normal value ? Or is there a better way to solve this for the time being ?

I almost bought one of those heavy buffers so thanks for saving me the money on that. I think a major point to bring out, something that I was confused about until this thread and correct me if I am wrong, but, there are buffers that will work in the A5 configuration, but the system is not an A5 unless using one of the Vltor A5 Buffers and you will not get the same benefits of the A5 system unless running one of their Vltor A5 buffers.

.... I think we should have elastic bracelets made that say WWIGD or WWMD. I find myself trying to think as such more often.

Just ran my BCM 14.5" middy with Vltor A5H4 buffer and LMT e-carrier in the pouring rain (Orlando area, hello TS Andrea!) with Speer Lawman .223 pressure frangible 55gr. Just under 100 rounds on a gun that basically went swimming and not one single malf.

What a great system Vltor has in the A5.

So the A5 makes it run better with water on the gun too?

Well, I don't know about "better" since it has always been 100%.....but it's literally without failure when another Deputy's Colt 6920 choked on a couple of the rounds (and I have much respect for Colt; if that happened, the ammo is shit quality).

Mine just kept on chugging....and most of my lube had run off by that point. When I say we were getting rained-on, we were getting poured-on....it was like standing in the shower. My carbine is still drying out right now.

EDIT: I just picked my Kevlar up and it's still dripping wet. Class ended at 1700 EST yesterday.
