I think that makes sense if you budget can handle it. I have had a G19 for a long time, and added a G26 a few years ago. I'd definitely try a few thousand rounds in a hand gun before buying three of them.

Another option to the 40 Oz. 1911 is the BiTone LW made by Springfield Armory. It's a 5" 1911 with an alloy frame.

I'm still find myself wrestling with this question. I've shot the G19 and it's fine for me, but clearly is not a Wilson. However, the only reason I find it difficult to part with it is because it is such a fine 1911. However, I've been carrying my J-frame for the past month again as the weather warms-up here. I honestly don't think I'll carry my CQB again once I get a G19 as it will be an all-round great gun (for the range, truck, self-defense, and CCW).

I no longer find myself just "target" shooting at the range with my CQB. When I go there now I'm "training" and using the tools that LAV taught me last month. All of which seem to be better accomplished with a simpler Glock.

Also, the price of 45 ACP is twice that of 9mm and training on a 1911 is expensive. Then there is the ease of concealing a G19 as well as the higher capacity magazines.

I'm considering three because I have two boys and figure I could give them each one when they come of age. Until then, I have a back-up G19 if my primary one goes down for maintenance (not very likely ) or is involved in a self-defense shooting.

Well, is this a crazy idea to get out of my CQB and go over to combat tupperware? Is buying extra G19s for my boys foolishness?
I like Glocks and my custom 1911's. If one had to go it would be my glocks. The Wilson CQB is my duty gun. It is a better gun in my opinion. It will shoot rings around he Glock in the accuracy department. It also has a far better trigger. I have round that 1911's are just plain easier to shoot fast and well. Hence their dominance in competition shooting sports, LEO SWAT teams, Military Special Forces units and they also are very popular amoung civilian firearms instructors.
