400 is about as far as I'll go with the RDS. Beyond that, without a spotter watching your trace, you start pissing away ammo and getting frustrated.

Get a magnified optic and some 69 or 77 grain bullets and prepare to be addicted to the long range shot.

I've read a lot of poster's preference for different RDS zeros, usually 50 and 100 yds.

What would be the proper zero for and SBR of say, an 11.5" length? The same as a 14.5 or 16? I know that the 3 or 4.5 inch difference will cause a bit of difference in velocity but will it make a big enough difference between deciding on a BZO between 50 and 100?

I zero my 10.5 at a hundo. EVERYthing is zeroed at a hundred so there's no additional room for errors or confusion.

I would even argue that a 100 meter zero is better for an SBR than any other rifle, as its performance envelope is 200 meters and under.

I zero 1" high at a hundred, just to be difficult.

Keeps everything inside the 3" circle on the high side and gives a few more yards on the back side vs a true 100.

True. I'll sling a few to 300 with my 10.5, but that's just for fun.

It's been said, but great video. Watching the trails out to the target was interesting.

Something worth mentioning, and I'm curious about, would be what brightness you're running on that RDS. I'm really impressed with how well I can do turning the brightness down, and basically disappointed with how much error I introduce into the holdover equation when it's bright enough to have any sort of bloom.

That zoomed in shot was excellently done, I watched that video like 3x to watch that bit.

I turn the intensity down until I have little or no bloom left for the longer distance shots. I still had it bright enough to pick up the dot so it wasn't a hard to see speck.
