handguard dilemma: Vltor CASV-M vs. LaRue 9.0

They will be installed on a 16" lightweight upper, I like the LaRue for its ruggedness and excellent lock-up system. The Vltor is cheaper and easier to install though. I'm stuck. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I have CASV-Ms on two rifles. Buy a Centurion Arms C4 Rail, get one at least 11" in length. That is all.

The vltor and larue are so 2009.

Centurion, DD, or Fortis are my choices. The Centurion and Fortis utilize a standard barrel nut.

    Same here.

Like anything Vltor makes its quality but there are better choices. You'll find alot of Centurion love on here for good reason. The Fortis has me curious b/c I like the tall/thin profile.

Neither. There are way better rails out there.

Look at Geissele, KAC, Noveske, etc.

So what is the reason for the Centurion Arms praise? I haven't really looked into them.

Beautiful machining, amazing quality, and ease of installation. Plus Monty will bend over backwards for his customers.

Interesting, you know I was opting for a 16 inch BCM (this is my first build) but I noticed that they carry a 14.5" with the C4 already installed. I was always thinking that somewhere down the line I'd want to change the handguard (perm fh). If the C4 is as good as you guys say, I might have to go for the 14.5
