Have you done this or actually seen it done? Not only does the bullet have to be seated deep into the case, the neck and shoulder would have to be crushed
If somebody can crush the case of a 300 BLK enough to fire in a 5.56 case, they'll be able to crush the 5.56 enough to fit in a 300 BLK chamberDoing the opposite, by trying to insert a 5.56 into a 300 BLK, doesn't create a problem. The cartridge is longer, and doesn't chamber. Even if it did, there wouldn't be much of a consequence.

With un-crimped bullets, and a low powder load for subsonic, it probably isn't too hard to send the bullet further into the case. In any case, there have been several accounts of it happening.
