info on st 5.45x39 ar barrel w/o extension

Without doing enough research I decided to trade for a s.t. 5.45 barrel without the barrel extension from the other site. I figured it would be an easy addition with the help from a gunsmith but the more im reading around I dont know how easy its going to be or if it is even possible. does anyone have any input or suggestions. I would really appreciate any help or advice thanks in advance.

It's possible, but there are special tools involved (see below). And you need to know the torque values, ensure proper headspace, etc. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/529...ch-ar-15-steel

It'd probably be easier to send it somewhere. Try Randall at AR15barrels.com... if anybody knows, it's him.

That being said, is the gas port already drilled? If so, you have an issue. You'll need to send it to somebody who has access to many extensions so that they can try different ones until they have one that has a torque value that times with the gas port.
