    MSE AQC-1

I searched and did not see this posted, figured I'd post a thread since I had a chance to go hands on with one today. *Sorry for crappy pix, taken with a cellphone*

This is supposed to be a super IDF battle optic/red dot sight. From what I was told its been fielded by the IDF for about a year and some months, with good results. Nothing I can confirm personally, just passing on info. Having fondled the optic this are the pro's and cons from my point of view:

    Pros:
Three reticles, one being a 2MOA dot
4 brightness intensity settings per reticle
    Lots of battery options
    No tool zero adjustment
Built in quick disconnect for 1913
    IR/NV compatible
    remote switch compatible
    lightweight
Gyro inside, auto-off (after a few minutes) and on when rifle moves

    Cons:
    Three reticles
"Composed reinforced polymer" body - is that a nice way of saying high end plastic?
    Looks like Eotech
Very low sitting on quick disconnect (will explain below)
Auto reticle reset on manual off
    Bigger than its competitors
    $600+ for a red dot
LED mirror blinds you at high ready

    It's good people are trying.

However, big and bulky seems right.

I think EOTech and Aimpoint are safe for now.

I agree, for the most part.

It has great potential, but I don't see it going anywhere serious.

If they cut the price in half and made the body metal, and a few other modifications, then yea it'll be a good option over other some RDS.

Aimpoints with their single dot are simple, rugged, and battery life is awesome.

EOTechs newest venture, the XPS models, are quite promising. I've been using an EXPS2-0 model and like it very much. The killer is battery life. I like the 1 MOA dot, and the big ring. Aimpoint still is a winner when it comes to a defense optic.

How's the battery life on this?
