Thank you for the review. I have been very curious about this.

i'll take some closer up pics of the anodizing, its not FDE its kind of a strange color but its the same as my 5-20 razor, the anodizing is holding up as well as any other scope i have.

I have had three Vortex optics to date. I started with the PST 1-4, the. The HS 1-4 (same scope but capped turrets), and now the razor 1-6. I liked the 1-4s, but they were worthless for illumination. I didn't either bother using it on the 1-4s. The razor is a completely different beast. The clarity rivals scopes that are 2-3 times the price. The illumination is the best of any scope outside of maybe the swaro 1-6. I definitely feel like this is the most durable and most rugged optics I have ever held. I looked at a lot of other scopes prior to buying the Vortex. I am extremely happy with the performance of the Razor. Of the mid to high end 1-6 options out there I am not sure there are any I would say were better better than the Vortex. I think I would even take the Razor over the Swaro with all things considered.

I am running the 1-6 as well. Just outstanding piece of glass for the money.

FUNDAMENTALS: A crutch for the talentless
I know this is slightly off topic since this thread pertains to the 1-6, but since you mention your 5-20...I was wondering what your overall impression of this scope is compared to the SWFA HD 5-20 counteroart. I'm debating between these two particular scopes for my 700 right now. Also, do you like the EBR-2B over the EBR-3?
I still need to find someone who has the 1-6 available locally to check it out. My Douglas bbl'd AR really needs a lower magnified optic.

I'll get to doing review on the 5-20 eventually. I have 3 with the EBR-2B reticle in them, now I also own 3 S&B's, 3 NF's, have had USO, Henny, Leupy, etc. The razor line so fan has done nothing but impress me. The 5-20 mimics the 1-6 in feeling of quality, zero stop is easy to set. The scope is repeatable and has really good quality glass, i have the 5mil per turn models but there are now 10mil turrets on them. The EBR-2B works great for holdovers, sadly i have never shot the EBR-3 so i cannot compair but i like the 2B.

It would be a toss up, but the only thing that I like better about is the swaro is the reticle. I don't know if I would turn it down because I could always sell the Z6 and buy another razor. The fact that the Vortex is so close the the Swaro and cost about $1000 less says a lot too.
