Holstered with the Slide locked back?

I do this only when required.

Where I shoot I'm usually by myself, occasionally others show up at odd intervals. I'd hate to have all my guns and ammo on a bench, or unloaded with the slide locked open, when I'm pasting targets and nefarious people show up.

More or less the same here - if I'm going to be lined out by somebody, or performing a self-imposed one before certain tasks, I'll do that same thing, usually I don't realize it. As soon as I'm done, or onto the next tast, I clear it again and reholster.

I had it drilled into me to never holster a weapon that was not ready to GO

Can't really see the purpose since any range that will allow you to work from a holster must also allow you to have a hot weapon

But maybe I am missing something...happens a lot
