    Very possible.

I am curious about the piece of bolt lug broken off and in the chamber of the Colt mentioned earlier in this thread.

The reason is I recently bought 2 new Colt LE 6920s and the main reason was because of Colt quality control and testing of all their components.

It sucks that you had to go through it, but at least Ruger made it right.

I am going to call them next week to let them know what they sent me is working well and to thank them. I will try and find out if they can give me a reason as to why it would not work at the same time.

I agree with the 'gunz', for the cost of that rifle the problem should have been caught. however we know that it only takes one guy having a "bad day" to screw things up. In the end Ruger did the proper thing, turned a minus into a positive and kept a customer. Maybe Taurus should take notice of how it's done.

There are only 2 things we should fight for. One is defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights.

Same extact thing happened to me several years ago with a NIB SR556. Frank White is a family friend and we took it down to him for inspection. He chastised me for buying the rifle in the first place and told me to send it back. Said out of spec chamber most likely. Ruger replaced the upper quickly and haven't had another problem with the rifle although I dont shoot it much anymore. I found this site shortly afterward and since bought 3 6920s and on a wait list for a BCM Jack.

A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.
