Decided on a trijicon reflex, now which model???

I have decided on a reflex due to the simplicity and no battery. Now which model, debating between the RX01 and the RX30. Anuone have either, thoughts, regrets etc. thanks in advanced.

    Why not an Aimpoint?

Hard choice but like the no battery, no on off switch etc. simplicity, always on, always ready. Aimpoint are great but I am not sure it's not just a lot of hype because so many people like costa and vickers swear by them. I am sure that will cause a lot of flaming from people but I just like the simplicity of the trijicon.

Aimpoint's are always on and always ready. You just have to change the battery every 5 years (advertised for T1). That's pretty damn simple dude. Plus they take one hell of a beating, as can be seen in LAV's DD torture tests. There gets to be a point where too many people like something for it just to be hype.

They are not always on unless you turn them on and they shut off after 4 hours. Make no mistake I am considering getting rid of my eotech and getting a T-1 for another rifles I think they are awesome but for this build it is strictly a SHTF rifle. No batteries. Took a lot other things into consideration like NIBx bolt group, NIBx inner coated upper receiver and internal coated buffer tube. Want a easily as possible maintainable KISS ultra light weight rifle. I know the T-1 is lighter than the Reflex but it had a battery.

I would say skip the RX-01 and go for the RX-34 or one of the RMR series.

That is the direction I am leaning. Like the size of the RX01 but like the sight picture of the rx30

    Hahaha... Really.

Aimpoints have the best battery life in the red dot business. They DO NOT have a auto shut off feature. EOTechs have a auto shut off feature but not Aimpoints.

Of the higher end red dot type optics, the reflex is not a good choice. You would be better off going with a compact Acog. Wash out issues are a big concern with the reflex.

I have used the reflex, compact acogs, EOTechs and several others. My go to rifle has a Micro Aimpoint.

Realize that there are real downsides to going the fiber/tritium route over battery power. The EOTech and Aimpoint fanboys will come out of the woodwork to tell you that your choice is wrong.

Frankly, with the battery life we see in RDS these days, I don't see any real benefit of a no-battery option. At the price you're already looking at, I would even suggest sitting on your hands a bit longer and getting an SRS, or going with a compact ACOG (TA-44s perhaps).

I stand corrected on the auto shut off. I am asking which reflex people are using and why.

As far as your aimpoint why do you like it so much?
