    Question Christensen CA-15

I have an opportunity to purchase a Christensen CA-15 with an agoc TA-31 optic for just under 4k. I realize that for the price a could get x,y or z rifle that is better or just as good for less. The question is, is less than 4k a good price for what is being offered? I gave her an opening offer of 2750, which didn't float to well, but didn't make her angry so do I come up closer to the 3900 or let it go.

Christensen, is this the one that makes carbon wrapped barrels? I have no idea if they make a good AR or not but since they're not on my radar I would not be inclined.

car dealers and vacation companies bundle packages to make their offer seem like you're getting a deal. but that only works if you sincerely want all the items in the package.

let me ask you, if the ACOG was not in the pkg, would you want the gun? and if the gun was not in the pkg, would you want the ACOG?

personally, I think there are better alternatives for both even at the price you first offered. for $2750 I could get a Daniel Defense carbine with a SWFA 1-6 scope and be verrrrry comfortable that I had a top of the line weapon system...

    Let it go.

All the ones I have seen have been 223 Remington chamber, 1-in-9" rifling, unstaked castle nut, &c., &c., &c., all tied to an untested and unproven piston system.

Seven years ago, the Christensen would have been hot sh__ with the piston system and carbon fiber-wrapped barrel. In a post-piston AR America... not so much.

I have about 1 of every ar made, so I am aware of what I could buy. Is the rifle being offered worth 3900 or is it worth 2750? I'm not looking to purchase this rifle for home defence or training. It is to be added to a collection. So does anyone know what I should pay for this gun?

There is absolutely nothing about that rifle that justifies that kind of money. Run away from it.

The price is asinine. For your offering price, why not go for a noveske or kac? Something more proven and held in high regard than a weapon most has never heard of or used?

What drew you to this weapon in the first place? Adding it to a collection? What's the point?

Why no research other than price compare?

Despite the optic, what makes you conclude this weapon is better than a colt, bcm, kac, DD, lmt or noveske, set up similarly for less than what they are selling it for?

Not trying to be a hugh dick but, what part of my post confused you? I have a metric tonne of ar's from all manufactures. Just want to know what this rifle is valued at. Not that I could by x,y or z as stated earlier. So does anyone know what a fair price for the rifle would be.

Your post wasn't posted prior to me starting my reply and going out to have a smoke.

Don't want to sound like a dick, but if you're wanting to add this to your collection, what does that say about your collection?

You've obviously got a hard on for this weapon, and nothing said will change your mind, so I say, go for it.
