I have 20/15 vision otherwise, so I'm not sure that I am a candidate for vision correction surgery.
Everyone if different. I can focus all day long on the target and will still see either a dash, comma or star burst in either eye. If I squint real hard looking at the target sometimes it will become a dot.
I understand where you are coming from but it does not work for everyone.

Same problem and also the basis for my name BTW. I run an Eotech and Aimpoint. I have had my eyes checked annually and I do not have an astigmatism. I wear contacts when I shoot. I only have the problem in low light. Sometimes the Eotech reticle will double and offset slightly. It helps when I focus on the target more but more light is my solution. With a weapon light it goes away. Daylight I have no problem.
It is just one of those things that you need to work through and around through practice.

I don't know how far forward the T1 is on the upper receiver, but I found a location closer to where the rear sight is located that gave me the best dot resolution. You might experiment with relocating the sight and see if that makes a difference.
My Aimpoint M2 is mounted further forward, than my T1.

Best thing to do it to NOT strain.. Place the optic as close to the eye as is practical, keep the intensity low, focus on the target and don't strain.. I have some serious astigmatism even after cataract surgery and Torx lens replacement. This is what works best for me.. Cheers.. Ron
Ain't no pockets on a shroud..
Is an Eotech less prone to this? With a 1MOA dot, it could be pretty explosive/starburst/tail-having, I would think?
