Of the two, I would buy the Colt. If I was opening up the criteria a bit at a similar price point, I would probably buy this: http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin...&key=MID-750-C

That does look good but being just a bit beyond the price envelope, I might have to sell my Browning Citori 20 gauge to keep my wife happy. And that baby is as old as I am.

A buddy of mine just got the SOCOM from WalMart and is extremely happy with it.

The thing is a tac driver for an off the shelf gun.

And like said, it will hold its value well.

    I'd go that route.

Just remember, the SOCOM for $1467 will have sales tax, while depending on how your state's FFLs handle transfers, there may be no tax and just a transfer fee on the DD from G & R.

    Walmart find, trouble deciding.

The M&P15TS is a cool setup, and the SOCOM is arguably a better gun, but I'd take a DD over either, definitely.

    Colt.

Walmart also includes the NICS check in the price of the gun, which is nice.

Get the BCM Recce. A BCM middy with a Gunfighter Charging Handle, Gun Fighter Grip, Gunfighter Comp plus a Centurion rail. That is a sweet deal.

Or buy a 6920 and a blemished RAS direct from KAC, and save yourself a couple hundred.

Another vote for the Colt! The Socom is one nice rifle.
