Simple question...
Does the 65 MOA reticle extend from the top of the ring to the bottom of the ring or from the top of the external hash mark to the bottom of the external hash mark?

Trying to understand your question:
This is what the "standard" reticule looks like:
If you are referring instead to the metal frame of the EOTech vs the projected reticule, there is a bit of gap between the hashmarks and the frame. (From memory)
Personally, I like the EOTech reticule and feel it's a bit more effective at longer distances than my Aimpoint RDS's. And it has a bit more field of view for close stuff. But for home defense hard to argue with the battery life of the Aimpoints, guess I drank the M4C koolaid! (and yes, early EOTech's had reliability issues. So did Aimpoint way back, people forget that!)
No not the frame. Of the reticle, there is a circle itch ash arks on the outside. The circle edge to circle edge or tip of hash mark to tip of hash ark s what I'm referring to. I thought it was clear.
And this isn't a comparison with an aimpoint. Work gives me an eotech so eotech is what I use.

65 MOA is the diameter of the outer circle.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for.
Gotcha, F2S beat me to it. The ring diameter is 65 MOA. The dot is called 1 MOA, but is closer to 1/2 MOA for most that I've seen.
And understand on the EOTech vs Aimpoint stuff, I only mentioned it as there is quite a bit of EOTech negativity on the forum. Won't rehash it. For duty usage I'd have no problem using recent EOTech or Aimpoint products. I see pro & con on both.
