    ACOG help

Hey guys about to place my order for my ACOG sight and I'm torn between two models and I could use your input please.
I'm torn between the TA31F or the TA33R-H
The main purpose of this rifle will be for hog hunting, coyote hunting, range and tactical courses. Your imput would be greatly apriciated!

    Regards,

Ta33 definitely, much better eye relief and in my opinion the horseshoe reticle combined with the ta33 makes it shine. With the ta31 you will have short eye relief and it isn't as forgiving when it comes to cheek weld.

The one thing I like about the TA31F is the built in bullet drop compensator, also it's what they use in the core and I'm going in so I will already be familiar with the platform, is the horse shoe reticle really worth it!?

I don't have experience with the TA33 but I loved my TA31F. If it wasn't for work I'd keep it instead of selling it.

The 33 has the mediocre BDC as well.
If you want to mirror the issued setup, go with the 31, as it has all the annoying shortcomings of the RCO so you can get used to it. In the end though, you are going to be getting an out-dated piece of gear to prepare for a service that is going to train you how to use the issued items to a decent standard.

There are a lot better ways to expend time and money in preparation for service, not that you asked, just some unsolicited advice.

Feel free to PM if you want advice outside the scope of your thread, apologies for the derail.

I love my TA31F. The GDI B model mount helps with the eye relief. The BDC if used in a yard range, is off by 100 yards. Example at 600 yards (the distance when the BDC is really off) I use the 500 mark of the BDC. It may be different for you.

I sometimes regret getting the COG knowing I could get maybe better variables. I knew its flaws when buying it though.

I am excited to take classes with it.
