Rugged optic for sure, only ones I've seen broken were from heavy IED strikes, but keep on mind the BDC is nominally for 62gr, so anything you shoot that isn't, the BDC might not be optimal for you. Also in some situations sometimes the reticle will be too bright, you'll see many service members using an ACOG taping about half of the tube on top to cut down on the amount of light entering. With that said seeing and using every optic the regular Army has to offer( ACOG, Aimpoint or EOTech) the Trijicon is definitely the most rugged and least prone to any failure, also it doesn't use batteries if that's important to you

I'm about to pull the trigger on a TA33G-H myself.

After looking through the 31, the eye relief is very, very short.

The TA11 & 33 are much more usable, due to eye relief, in non-standard positions.

    Also can use 11 & 33 on 7.62 guns w/o recoil-eye relief issues.

BDC reticules are silly, but usable.

For those that are a little disappointed with the eye relief and the placement when using a rear BUIS there is a local company that has made some prototype ACOG riser/spacer. I have one on my 4x32 TA-01 NSN. It works exceptionally well. There are two different models depending on which rear BUIS you are use.

I have the Marine Corps version, TA31RCO M4, I THINK THAT WAS THE MODEL, I highly recommend it, awesome optic once you learn how to use it.
