    .260 rem Build

Getting ready for my first precision rifle build. Is there any real world difference between a 8 twist and a 8.5 twist barrel for use with the heavier projectiles (139-142gr)?
Most recommendations seem to be for the 1-8" rate, but I read of many using the 1-8.5" rate.
Many of the available barrels I have located are in 8.5, and I am slightly concerned about ordering one.
    Any input would be appreciated.

all my 260AI bbl are 8.5 twist. i'm running 100 fps faster though. 8 wouldn't hurt. i think 8.5 could be a problem if you shoot in extreme cold or if your "1-8.5" bbl is actually wandering around to 8.8 or 9 twist or something

i think both sierra and berger have 800 hotlines you can call to ask them what they recommend for their projos
