This is a level of disgust that I have never before contemplated. From this day forward, I shall never again eat with an MRE spoon. I may not be able to eat with any plastic utensil ever again after reading this.

Nor will I buy a DPMS, I don't want to push Endur over the edge.

DPMS will fix your problematic rifles. A sportical is bare bones and should run 100%. materials don't affect reliability, only long term use or abuse etc.

Every manufacturer has problems. Especially Glocks. Gen 4 release was a fiasco. Gen 3 40s malfunction with light attachments. Etc. The thing that matters is customer service.

[I have one of their Oracle 308s and last Saturday when I was sighting in a new scope, all of a sudden the lip on the extractor was gone.
Fired a round it would not eject and that was the reason, it was not stuck, when I pulled the bolt, and tapped the shell fell out, don't know what caused the problem, but they are sending me a replacement.

Just for fun in this thread, this is a post from a thread on another forum where a user asked advice on what kind of "assault rifle" to buy, and I recommended the Colt 6920:

Buy a DPMS 3G1 rifle, hell of a rifle for the price. A ton of amazing aftermarket products.

A Colt 6920 is a decent rifle, but you're paying a mark up for the Colt name. A Stag, is a better rifle then a Colt. A DPMS, probably not. However A DPMS 3G1 is a better rifle then a 6920.

A male ego is a terrible thing, especially when it finds out it was hoodwinked by an ignorant gun store employee, friend or inept gun forum, into making a substandard purchase. Most will not admit it made a mistake, or learn from it. It's like a dog chasing it's tail or a self licking ice cream cone when it comes to folks joining M4C with a commercial grade bubba gun. Maybe if they didn't defend it to the grave, read some around here, and tried to learn something, it wouldn't look like a dog pile every time one joins.

I've debated writing a sticky on confirmation bias. But the target audience would never read it.

I have a DPMS lower that I was too lazy to strip down and sell during the craze 6 months ago. It has good parts inside so it works fine other than not dropping PMAGs free (so I guess it doesn't work fine). I wouldn't own a DPMS upper though.

Back in the day one could just buy an AK when the AR cost too much. Now the Oly/DPMS/DT AR has replaced the Yugo/Romy AKs as the bottom rung semi-auto military style rifle. The AKs we got cheap back then actually work (still never any problems with my '02 SAR-1) so it made some sense to save money and get something a little worse and fully functional.

Yes of course, everyone should focus on customer service. It's all about customer service because when SHTF and my equipment goes tits up and I'm out there flapping all that matters is that I can call someone on my iPhone to explain my problem and get a new part.

It would take a bit to lead those horses to water, to say nothing of getting them to drink.
