I really enjoyed this video from SHOT Show of Eric Kincel explaining the rail. Yes, I know, it's from Guns & Ammo's youtube page, but figured some would enjoy watching it.

So what's up with the rail panels being polymer? Could something attached to it like a light or VFG snag and snap the thing off?
Would you mind telling me how to blast it either through PM or right here so I could pass it on to the person who Cerakotes my rail. Don't get me wrong, I'd have no problem just buying the Cerakoted rail from you but I have a few hundred dollars in BCM gift cards burning a hole in my pocket.
Also, would it not be a good idea to just Cerakote over the coating BCM uses or maybe just blasting it very lightly to roughen up the surface a little but.

I'm sure it's no crazy new secrete way he prepped the KMR for ceracote, he just happens to be the first one to do it. Everyone will figure it out, and know how to do it very soon.
Whatever "special" coating they use, it's nothing new that hasn't been used somewhere before.
