Beautiful!
Seeing how much of the gas block that the rail covers....I might not wait for a 14"/15" to fully cover it. I think I could swing this with the agency folks...especially with a pinned GB.
Damn that thing looks sharp!

I was fortunate enough be able to make my way down to BCM with mikem today and was able to pick up a 13" KMR. Not too long ago I was involved in a situation at work which resulted in me not having a rifle for a few months. You can fill in the blanks. At the time, Paul really stepped up and helped me out so I would have something decent to shoot at an upcoming TAPS class I was registered for - and invited me to come back when he had a KMR ready. Paul is a class-act and I can't speak highly enough about him or his products.
Anyways, the KMR is awesome. It's light and strong and feels like it's made out of Wolverine's bones. The keymod system is the future. One of my biggest complaints with other modular handguards was when you attached a rail segment to the bottom of the handguard, the rail backing plate would contact the gas block and essentially nullify the advantage of a FF handguard. The keymod attaches without anything sticking through to hit the gas block - problem solved.
I snapped a few pics today. The upper is a 14.5" BCM BFH barrel, pinned BCM comp with the 13" KMR. With a CTR stock, Gunfighter pistol grip and Magpul sights, it weighs 6lbs 1 oz. Adding my Trijicon TR24 (1-4x), a VTAC padded sling, VFG, light, etc the final weight is about 8 lbs 9oz.

You guys are making me really jealous. Luckily I have the money whenever BCM is ready.
Sic semper tyrannis.
You had me at:
I wasn't foaming at the mouth for one of these until I read that article. The aluminum-magnesium alloy the KMR is manufactured from is reported to be 30-40% lighter than pure aluminum.
I have a baaaaaad feeling I would need my credit card typing skills to be honed to a razors edge to be able to score one of these on the release...
Great write up. I wasn't sold until I read the above quoted piece.
Standing by.... That wolf grey is awesome

Seems I'm just too geographically challenged to get one of these rails early. As long as these are still out by the end of 2013, I'll be able to finish 4 uppers waiting on the KMR 13.
Just not today, I guess.
Any idea if this is going to be a chaotic release or will they release them with enough product to go around?
