Give me a break. They are 100% serviceable and probably lighter than their aluminum counterparts. Have you ever actually handled them?
After handling the ones that came with my upper, I'd have no qualms using them, even to attach a bipod.
Amen.

Not being defensive. There's just a low tolerance for people talking out of their a$$. If you own one and have found it to be deficient or it has failed on you, then your comment might have some merit. However, a drive by post denouncing a product with no first hand knowledge just doesn't hold water.
My 14.5 ELW-F Mid showed up. Took UPS 11 days to get it to me because all of the bad weather in the mid west and south. Well worth the wait of course.
The quality of every component is flawless. Very light, nice small diameter. I added on a keymod QD sling mount, hand stop, and thorntail offset light mount all from IWC. All good stuff but I'm not sure on the light mount yet. Finished it off with magpul mbuis. Tossed on my colt lower and bcg. Bcm ambi charging handle. With a full mag it weights 7 lbs even. I will be breaking it in at the range tomorrow.

My 16" SS Upper came in today, thank you Grant. I'm impressed so far from handling it. I did chuckle though when I realized there is no QD socket on like my other rails. Completely spaced it and now need to order the keymod QD attachment.
I have added Magpul polymer rail sections to my R700 stock to mount the bipod, no amount of loading or recoil has seemed to bother them. I bet these will be the same.
Is anyone using a Surefire Scout on their KMR and if so, what mount are you using with the rail?

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate and I picture us invading that world because they would never expect it.
If I had a scout I would use the thorntail.
