I've got experience with the YOUNG, COLT, and LES BAER.

All of them are fine. The YOUNG fits a little tight when new, but runs great after break in. Les Baer is the nicest. I got it stripped and lapped and staked my key according to gospel.

Colt is a slick side... it's just a Colt... what can you say. I also have a Fail Zero'd 16 carrier. It's bling is lower... more of a Peuterish look.

I'd have to say the Baer is the finest, but doesn't have the full 16 carrier profile at the back.

    Mark,

How was the Young's carrier staking job from the factory. Am eyeballing a BCG from them.

They dont believe in staking. If you do get one from rainier, it'll come staked... By rainier.

That's right CC. Forgot about the good folks at Rainier doing that. Thanks,

I've got both, and I have to admit, the chrome BCG is easier to clean. Otherwise, I haven't owned the chrome version long enough to determine if it truly functions better. As for me, I prefer the looks of a black BCG when the dust cover is open

As far as being smooth in cycling I have compared my 2 carriers with 2 Nickel Boron carriers and the difference isn't much. Strangely enough my carriers seem to be smoother. Those 2 carriers being a BCM & LMT. All I did was polish the carrier's rails and the lower portion that interfaces with the hammer.

Any experience with the Daniel Defense chrome one. My brother picked one up in the winter when things were crazy because he got a decent price on it. Has not had a chance to use it yet but I assume being DD it should be fine.

I like my YM NM bolt carrier assy. Easy to clean, runs great with no complaints.. and it came staked... I just pulled it out of a rifle that had a couple hundred rounds through it last weekend, no cleanup except to wipe the logo so you could read it.. lol
