If you successfully drill a hole in the case I wonder if one of these old style dent pullers would help. It has a screw attachment that could be slowly screwed into the case then backed out with the puller, gently with love and care.

If there are any inventors out there, you could take one of these and fabricate an end like an extractor claw that grabs both sides or three sides of the case. Shrink it down to a third of the size with maybe a 1lb puller.

A live round stuck in the chamber with some other materials (cleaning rods) stuck in the barrel-a problem that few have probably dealt with. It will be interesting to see the solution. This is how us newbies learn and this is why I enjoy m4carbine. Go slow with the fix and please document all procedures and please be safe.
This one is a disaster in waiting, buy a new barrel, why risk it.
I don't think danger is a reason most on this forum would halt such a project. In fact, I think most would like to tackle this problem because of the challenge it poses. Even I would love to solve this problem. I wonder how that primer would respond to liquid nitrogen?
