Once upon a time, Grant had the ADM SOCOM height T-1 mounts for the same price as the DD.

Even at that, the ability to yank it off in a hurry is nice, but more importantly the ability to replace that RDS with a low powered variable on that particular rifle is worth the QD.

That said, I've been itching to try the ultra-high AP Micro setup ala Jason Falla where it's on a riser, and the gap in the DD mount allows irons to be used UNDER the aimpoint, and with a really upright head position.

I just got sick of loctite and shit falling off my rifle so i went on a tirade and QD everything now. Why not.

The LaRue mounts are great... if you mark your non-qd and make sure its not backing off every so often you are g2g. Sometimes, if i feel like a barrel is reaching the end of its service, I will pull the optic off of a rifle and put on a precision optic to make sure it is still holding good groups... thats the only time I find it particularly useful. Other than that, I never really even think about it... which is a good thing i guess.
