    question about underfolder stocks

What is the little hook on the butt plate on the underfolder stock for?
The devil danced as he went down
In the hail of arrows comin'
Out on the wild Montana ground,
    Custer died a-runnin'.

I would think it does no more than rest against the lower handguard.gives a flatter area so you would not get the half circle from the folder digging in when pressure is applied when folded.

    Bingo.

You're still going to scar a wooden handguard though, just not as badly.

In the same aisle should be some clear soft rubber ones that wont hold moisture.

I believe I 'll pass on the pad, it is an AK, not a high grade target rifle.

It is an AK but you can still treat like a "target rifle" without ill effect.
