My KAC 11.5s, 14.5s and 16s are some of the best running 5.56 guns I have.
The A5 buffer of correct weight helps reliability, especially throwing a suppressor in the mix. The LMT enhanced carrier with the A5 really helps on the carbines that get a can on them even more.

I got a chance to try out an A5H3 and Springco Green action spring on my 11.5" KAC today. Test ammo was PMC, as that is the weakest ammo I shoot. With the H3, it cycled extremely soft and fed fine. However, it would not lock back on an empty mag. 10 rounds fired individually, all failed to lock back. Switching back to the standard A5H2 solved the issue, so it looks like the H2 will stay in the gun.

I've had the best reliability with the A5H2 in the 11.5" KAC. That with a Colt rifle spring and LMT enhanced carrier. Works great even fouled in the cold. The A5H3 didn't feel much softer and wasn't as reliable. This combo tolerates a can very well, but I can run more buffer weight and spring when running suppressed only.

Thanks for the feedback Tom. I have an enhanced carrier in another gun, but I think I'm going to leave well enough alone and run this one as is. The H3 felt marginally softer, but it's sort of splitting hairs at this point.

The LMT enhanced carrier is worth it if you run a can, not as much if you don't, but it still has some benefits.

I've had a high success rate with the A5H2 unsuppressed so far, but will also pick up an H3 whenever the suppressor comes through. I may also swap out the Colt for an LMT enhanced carrier. Only makes sense since I've got the enhanced bolt right?

    It's Emanual's fault. :sly:

I would definitely use the A5 and LMT enhanced carrier when using a can is an option. That combo tolerates it very well. A5H2 with a Colt spring for 50/50 suppressed. A5h4 with a Springco green for 100% suppressed.

That was my thinking, since I don't have a suppressor yet.

And now we're hearing NFA wait times are at 15 months.
