What kind of cat tail do you have on backorder? I have one on my scope from 3 gun stuff.

It's worked well for me so far. It's plenty robust and easy to manipulate without sticking out too far. I drew a line on it with a silver paint pen so I can easily tell what power the scope is set on (which is 1x about 99% of the time).

Another thought is that if by some remote chance you do find yourself with your AccuPoint fogged over, then an Aimpoint would likely be fogged over as well. Offset irons might be the better option because it would avoid the fogging issue altogether.

Probably should have bought that one, but this is the one that is on backorder that I expect to come in really soon...

Well, fog is a possible reality in the summer time in south Florida, that's a really good point... So the next logical question is, what offset iron sights?

I know KAC just put out an offset version of their highly regarded BUS, but they're flip-ups. I don't really get the concept of flip-up offset irons. I always thought the whole point behind offsets was to have a back up sighting system in place and ready for use. Having to deploy them seems counter-intuitive to me, but I've never used offsets so maybe I'm just talking outta my arse here. I would gladly defer to the opinions of individuals who have actually used them.

Personally, if I was going to give them a try I would take a hard look at the Surefire set. They're a bit pricey, but Surefire puts out top quality gear.

Interesting picture above, and it shows the KAC flip-ups I mentioned in my previous post. However, if fogging is an issue then you'd still be screwed with that setup, as your backup flip-up irons would be rendered useless by the fogged Aimpoint they're co-witnessed with.

It was simply an illustration to show line of sight with both options.

That's my thought on the matter as well.
