I bought an mp10 by luck a couple of months ago and love it. I don't think you can go wrong with that.

I'm also considering the M&P 10. Considering that I can get one with a mil discount at $999, that can't be beat. I wish my budget would allow for a REPR or OBR, but it just won't right now.

I appreciate the replies. With my limited budget, this might be my intro into the precision rifle series. I'm still doing my homework.

I have to say I am far more impressed with the Sig 716 than I thought I'd be, and it's priced within $200 of the S&W. And that gets you a rail, better sights and an adjustable gas piston system.

I will say that the only thing I was not 100% happy with is the MIM hammer in the M&P10. It may not be a problem and in my experience MIM done correctly is just fine for a hard use gun. We shall see.

    LMT MWS

Great rifle with a solid service record. Next best to a KAC SR 25. Top it with a Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10 FFP and you are right at about $3500 for the package.

Exactly! You have to ask yourself if it's a good idea trying to force something that should feed without assistance when you're not under duress and risk a catastrophic failure. Especially if you're not in a match or other scenario. I'd rather toss a $1 then risk a $2K+ rifle and my own well being.
