A New Colt Design in 7.62x39?

I saw what looks like something similar to RRA's design (in only that it uses AK mags) featured in a picture of Rick Perry's visit to Colt. I'm not gonna post a pic just in case it's false or may violate a forum rule. Would any of the Colt lovers on here know anything about the rifle I'm speaking of?

    Nice!

I looked up their website, but never found any official info. Do you know anything more about it?

I could see one in my future more so than 5.56. I just hope it won't have any steel case issues.

The body of the 7.62x39 has a fairly steep taper to improve extraction with a steel case

If it's as accurate as a 556 Colt, I'd be interested.

I'm sure it's just me but I just can't warm up to ARs chambered in 7.62x39 or AKs chambered in 5.56.

Been shooting this upper receiver kit I got about 15 years ago and have never had the issues bantered about on the various forums. The newer ASC (C-products) curved magazines work extremely well.
A friend with a registered M16 lower ran this upper FA and the additional short range power of the 7.62 x 39 was evident.

It's all opinion regardless, the 5.56 is a well evolved cartridge, so yeah why bother
