    Also related to this thread:

I built a "Montana Jack" with parts laying around plus 'Jack' parts. No, I don't have any pictures of it.

But it was a 16" mid-length government profile BFH barrel from BCM, sand 13" Mk1, FDE SOPMOD Bravo, and FDE BCM Gunfighter grip. And the whole gun looked just fine (to me). Even/especially with a Trijicon TA31 ECOS on it. So unless you're a big color-match nut (eg, you can't stand FDE SCARs), I wouldn't worry about it.

And I ended up selling the 'Montana Jack' when I finally got an HSP Jack. The balance and weight of the HSP Jack killed my appreciation for the MT Jack.

If I were going to built another MT Jack, it would look an awful lot like this "Poor Man's Jack", down to the optional Geissele trigger. (I'd probably rock a Mk3 instead of the Mk4, though.)

Put my new Vortex 1-6 HD on my BCM JACK Clone and shot some groups. Pretty impressed for a chrome lined gun!

What is that feature just forward of the pivot pin? Is that a barrel clamp system? Does it work with a standard barrel or is a proprietary barrel needed?

This is a really nice set up. I wish I had the funds to make this my second carbine. Right now I only have the money to put together a carbine for my wife over the course of the next year

It is really nice to see G&R bringing these well thought out firearms to the market.

Are you talking about the Geissele rail? If so, that rail will work with any barrel.

Proprietary barrel nut but not barrel. As grant mentioned its universal for barrel fitment. The set screw above the pivot pin are for setting rail alignment and work great!
