    The Truth About Exercise

    Very much worth watching.

Looks at Genetic testing to show who is an exercise "non responder" vs "super responder" in the future could be very helpful to help people really personalize their exercise program, looking at HIIT (where 3 minutes PER WEEK is all you need to get the same benefits as hours per week...) , and other topics of interest are covered in this BBC special.

Tons of good info. Where this show completely missed the boat is no discussion on the benefits of resistance training vs traditional aerobics for weight loss, impact on metabolism, preservation of LBM, etc.

    That's my only major criticism.

"Join British journalist and physician Michael Mosley on his journey to uncover the truth about exercise. Mosley reveals the latest scientific discoveries about how our bodies respond to a workout and why individuals respond differently."

    A couple of thoughts...

I feel bad sitting for an hour to watch that.

The red headed waitress was hot

I'm a non responder, I knew there was something wrong with me in regards to exercise and I still exercise pretty regularly.

I need to add more HIIT (but I already knew what that was)

Some day in the near future you'll be able to take a quick test to see if you're genetically a non responder to exercise, but it's also moot. If the info was used correctly, it could be useful to help people tweak their approach to exercise to perhaps what they tend to respond best to, etc, but you know most will use it as an excuse not to exercise.

"Hey, test said I'm a non responder, so why bother?" Note, approx 20% were non responders in that study and that was only for what they actually looked at, likely does not show the entire picture of response.

So, it's interesting info, but to be ignored at this time.
