Anyone run an E2e as a Weapons Light?

Looking to cut down the weight any place I can.

E2e in an Vltor Scout mount makes a very light and compact option.

That is exactly what I am planning.

I have that setup on a couple of guns, very handy indeed.

An E2e? Isnt that thing only pushing about 60 lumens? If you want lighter; go with a G2 instead. The G2 is only 1 oz heavier and you have more lumens initially with the option of increasing output if you want.

Hmmm I thought the G2 was the one a bit lighter?

You aren't going to really notice 5 lumens missing, at least that's been my personal experience in some of the low light stuff I've done.

In fact, guys with a bunch of lumens were getting lots of backsplash with light.

You're not trying to melt their eyeballs out of their sockets.....

I'm only concerned with close engagements, although if I was LE and using it as a patrol rifle, I might very well have a different opinion.

At close ranges, the difference is minimal. A bit more noticeable at distance, but you still have to look for it.

The G2 does have the edge in modification.

Mine, too. The E-series works fine, as long as one is mindful of the limitations.

    E2

I've used an E2 on my partrol rifle and liked it.

Lumens Factory offers a 110 lumen bulb if you want a brighter light. I have one on the way from Grant.

IRRC, there are also CREE drop in LEDs available for the E series.

What is the run time on that?
