Finally shot paper @ 200 yards. Steiner 3-12X56, set at 12X. Shooting from bench off harris bipod and rear bag. Ammo FGMM 175gr:
I also tried Hornady steel match 155gr. This ammo was "all over" at 200 yards, and I didn't bother measuring its group size.

16" CL with rifle length gas, soft shooter, reliable, and once my Atlas comes in I'll have a better shot at some good groups.

Would installing a syrac gas block on a 16" CL barrel and down-tuning the gas port work? Can it even be installed?

I'm assuming by 'ball milling' you mean dimpling.
ADCO lists Under the Hanguard for $125, and Forward of FSB for $115.
I'm guessing Marvin Pitts charges around the same?
