    Mount aimpoint micro above acog?

Is there a way to mount an aimpoint micro above an acog similar to the way other MRDs do? I am aware of the larue mount that does this. I am just curious if anyone knows of any other options out there? Thanks.

have you looked at the KAC 45 offset mount, I think that would be more functional and give you a slimmer profile weapon.

Thanks a lot. But I am looking for one that goes above the acog. I have a daniel defense offset mount already. It works pretty good, I just would love a mount that would let me have the t1/acog combo the way leupold has the hamr and deltapoint combo.

I know it would mean a different cheek weld and offsets.

Aimpoint experimented with an above the ACOG mount and were showing them in 09. Their mil sales rep at the time, said they still were working on them and unless they could get it to work they would not release them. I guess 4 years later, they did not get it to work.

Larue had a cage type mount a few years back, but I don't think it was a big seller.

You can see examples here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...38%3B800%3B600

Not to my knowledge. Seems like the RMR over ACOG method is the typical choice.
Not sure about you guys, but I'm only here for the free food and open bar.

    This.

The KAC or any other quality offset mount is the way to go. Mounting any optic (including the RMR) above an ACOG is a poor choice in comparison, IMO. With an offset mount, you can put a T1/RMR down the rail a bit (in front of the ACOG) and still maintain a proper cheek weld while canting the rifle. No transitioning from cheek to "chin" weld.

As others have already said. You would be much better off with an offset mount.

I can't use it on my support side.

Honestly, I'd just like to see if the mount exists, so I can try it and see if I like it better than the offset mount, and keep the one I like.

Found a pic, so it apparently exists. Although having the micro attach directly to the base would be preferable.
